    Atrocious attitude from teenage staff, ludicrous payment policy, inflexible lazy service and poor quality food all give Irish hospitality a bad name.It is such a shame that despite having a world class heritage site on their doorstep and a constant flow of tourists the parochial and lazy attitude to service hasn’t stepped up.
    A group of over 30 people who were attending a wedding at the nearby Causeway Hotel met at The Nook last Thursday and a group of us decided to eat there. Flat refusal from the waitress to come to the table to take our collective food order was exasperating, rejecting the idea of using their notebook to write our order down (and essentially doing her job!) was infuriating so we were forced to queue at the bar to submit and pay for each order individually. But what was truly maddening was throwing every customer out and closing the bar early while threatening police intervention if we didn’t leave. The food took forever to arrive and I did manage to forage some frozen fish from amongst the sea of batter. Accompanying this were cold discs of crispy grease slammed down without any explanation or apology as to the absence of chips.
    It is clear that they are not relying on repeat custom and are making so much money that they can to treat their customers so appallingly. A truly dreadful experience.
